Nakkikeitto - Finnish Sausage soup

Traditional sausage soup is a tasty everyday meal for the whole family. Serve delicious sausage soup with sour cream.

Ingredients
- 400 grams / 14 ounces sausage.
- 20 grams / 0.7 ounces butter.
- 6 medium potatoes.
- 4 carrots.
- 200 grams / 7 ounces rutabaga.
- 1 small leek.
- 2 onions.
- 2 garlic cloves.
- 1 bundle of parsley leaves.
- 1 broth cube.
- 2 bay leaves.
- 5 allspice.
- 1 tablespoon honey.
- 1 teaspoon white pepper.
- Salt.
- 200 grams / 7 ounces sour cream.
Instructions
- Start the sausage soup by first chopping the sausage. Then fry it in butter in a pan until they have a little color on the surface. Set aside to wait.
- Chop onion and garlic. Add to the pot and sauté lightly in butter.
- Wash and chop the potato and carrot. Peel the rutabaga and put all the vegetables in the pot.
- Add 1.5 liters / 0.4 gallons of water to the pot and put it on the plate to heat up.
- Season the soup: add 1 meat stock, 2 bay leaves, allspice, salt, honey and white pepper. Let it boil until the vegetables are cooked.
- Finally, cut the leek and add it to the pot with the sausage. Mix everything and taste. Add spices to your taste.
- Finish the soup with parsley and enjoy with sour cream.
