Kladdkaka – Sticky Swedish Chocolate Cake

You want a simple but oh so delicious chocolate treat for the weekend? Look no further than this Swedish kladdkaka, which directly translates to mud cake. It’s soft inside and so good it’s hard to just take one piece!

A delicious sticky chocolate cake that is super easy to make (And just one pot to mix it up!) The perfect treat for when you want some chocolate goodness!

Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 100 grams / 3.5 oz butter.
  • 2.5 dl / 8.5 oz sugar.
  • 2 eggs.
  • 1 dl / 3 oz all purpose flour.
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar.

To Serve

  • Powdered Sugar.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°/350°.
  2. Melt the butter, remove pot from pan.
  3. Mix in sugar and the egg, mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix to a smooth batter.
  4. Pour the batter in a greased 24cm/9inch spring form.
  5. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 15 minutes. The cake will be low and sticky in the middle.
  6. Let cake cool. Sift powdered sugar over the cake.


Serve with whipped cream or ice cream and a bit fruit.
