Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 400 g / 14 ounces minced meat
  • 1 dl / 3.4 ounces breadcrumbs OR 3 slices of white bread OR 2 medium boiled potatoes
  • 2 dl / 6.8 ounces water or meat broth
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • White pepper
  • Black pepper
  • 1-3 cloves of garlic (Can be omitted)

For serving

  • Lingonberry jam

Instructions

  1. Let the breadcrumbs or bread swell in the liquid in a large bowl for 5-10 minutes. If you use a boiled potato as an extension, grate it finely. In this case, you can reduce the amount of liquid by approx. 1/2 dl.
  2. Add the chopped onion, spices, egg and minced meat to the bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. You can shape meatballs or patties from the same basic mixture. If you are making mincemeat patties, shape the mixture into a thick bar and divide it into eight parts. Press the steaks into ovals or rounds.
  4. If you cook them in the oven, press them directly on the baking paper on the baking pan and bake at 225°C for 15 to 20 minutes.Steaks can also be fried in a frying pan.

Minced meat patties can be served with e.g. mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes, lingonberry jam and salad. They are also great as a filling for hamburgers.
