Chocoladbollar – Swedish Chocolate balls

This weeks Swedish recipe is a dessert one. Perfect if you’re looking for something for your Fika!

These Chocoladbollar – or Chocolate Balls – are an amazing no bake treat you can make for any occasion! They’re so easy to make and it’s one of those treats it’s easy to rope in the kids to make as well! You can vary them as you’d like by rolling them in coconut, sprinkles, almonds, or sesame seeds

Chocoladbollar - Swedish Chocolate balls

Classic recipe for chocolate balls that can be easily varied by replacing the water with e.g. coffee or liqueur. Roll in coconut, granulated sugar or your favorite sprinkles!

Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 150 grams butter / 5 ounces - room temperature.
  • 1½ dl / 5 ounces powdered sugar.
  • 3 tablespoons baking cocoa.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons water or cold coffee.
  • 4 dl / 13.5 ounces oatmeal.

To garnish

  • Grated coconut
  • Sprinkles
  • Chopped almonds
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Stir together the butter and sugar.
  2. Stir in cocoa, vanilla sugar, water and oatmeal.
  3. Form round balls and roll them in coconut, sprinkles, almond or sesame seeds. Store in the fridge or freezer.
